Biography

Lana Nesnas is a stunning and versatile, creative performer and entrepreneur..

Over the last 20 years, she has 'trodden the boards' of the entertainment industry with exploratory delight... from sultry songstress to leading lady in theatre, film and mainstream TV; production assistant, stage manager and puppet wrangler to lighting/sound/follow spot operator and radio mic assistant for live theatre. Coupling her breadth of skill and experience in the performing and technical arts with her business and creative savvy, Lana has also built a successful entertainment and promotional design business, Entertain Sydney.

Lana has performed for numerous outfits as lead vocalist and backing vocalist, including 'Frida' in international tribute band ABBASBACK, MO award nominated party band, the Family Von Trapp, tribute bands Rumours Australia and Icons In Concert, band leader for her own covers band Sydney Groove since 2007, and is currently lead vocalist for Sydney's premier party/corporate bands Planet Groove and Hipnosis.

A WAAPA music theatre graduate, Lana can traverse genres with sophisticated ease. Her humour, presence and charm has captured the heart and attention of audiences worldwide.

On stage, Lana has understudied and played leading roles in musicals such as South Pacific (Theatre Royal, Sydney), the original tour of Dirty Dancing (Aus/NZ), Berlin - Cabaret of Desire (Silo Theatre, Auckland) and as Cinderella in Cinderella and Friends for DSF, Dubai. Her film and TV credits include All Saints (Channel 9), short films Squalor (IFSS & Dogfight Productions), Vafadar (AFTRS), and acting and recording voice for commercials and soundtrack including the 2004 Original Australian Cast Recording of "Dirty Dancing". Delighting in her Middle Eastern heritage, Lana has also performed in Arabic for the 2012 Sydney Middle East Dance Festival, and with bellydance artiste Nancy Yousef in Maher Kheir's Arabesque of Love at the Sydney Opera House.

Lana is currently consolidating her skills and experience into an exciting new entertainment enterprise, set to launch August 2023 (watch this space!).
